Keeping Current

In some areas of Illinois, rivers have been likened to "chocolate milk coming over the dam"--an unflattering description that illustrates the problem of soil eroding into water.

For many acres, the solution to erosion problems may mean only a slight alteration in the tillage practices. But on certain Illinois land--approximately 900,000 acres--soil erosion will not be controlled.
